Sanborn was started as a major railroad town. With a population of 1353, Sanborn offers an excellent climate for businesses. Sanborn is the home of an award-winning Golf & Country Club, a 2.3 mile asphalt walking trail, and swimmers will enjoy the outdoor public pool on hot summer days. The main community event in Sanborn is the Sanborn Railroad Day held each summer in commemoration of the railroad heritage of Sanborn.
